At least 27 people are known to have died in Vietnam as a result of Typhoon Damrey. It is the twelfth major storm to hit the country this year making landfall on Saturday with winds of up to 90 kilometres an hour ripping roofs off homes and damaging power lines and trees. 30,000 people have been evacuated and more than 600 homes have collapsed entirely, according to Vietnam’s Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention. 22 people are still missing.
